Eastern Michigan University

Since 1849, Eastern Michigan University has been committed to the highest standards in the classroom, the community and the world. With 22,000 students of all ages and walks of life from around the globe, we are able to combine a world-class university with a thriving, connected community environment.

EMU is an exciting place to visit, to study, to research, to teach, to work and to grow.

To supplement their own funds, EMU students receive more than $130 million per year in financial aid: scholarships, grants, loans, GA tuition/stipends, athletic grants-in-aid, part-time employment and fellowships. Financial aid comes from federal, state, EMU and private sources, some of which international students will be eligible for.

Every year about 400 new international students come to Eastern Michigan University to study, and there are approximately 1,000 international students that call EMU home. International students come to EMU currently from about 87 countries and study at the graduate and undergraduate level.
